Week 13

I have a secret no more....at least for most. This week we were able to share our good news with so many people I think I have cauliflower ear. It is a good thing we have some free long distance calls. Sharing the news with family and friends makes the whole idea of a baby more real. The crazy thing is that there are even more babies then we thought.

Adam told his work on Monday with #1 dad mugs at his usual Monday morning meetings. As it turns out, we learned his co-worker and former roommate are due 1 week after Adam and I. Adam has a fellow guy to empathize his pregnant wife stories with. I have a fellow first time mother to talk with as well. There are so many babies on the way, and another one we are really excited about.

This week I am traveling to Atlanta to tell my office. My fellow co-worker is due a week after me. We are going to have a cookie cake, my favorite, with a little saying "We are pregnant". Everyone thinks we are just celebrating my birthday. At least our direct bosses with have a heads-up to all the fun.

Also this weekend we went to Babies R Us. I think we are definite that this is our bedding. We also realized how much stuff babies need. It is amazing. We are so grateful to our friends for providing some maternity clothes and some baby items. Every little bit helps in the large expenses of this amazing miracle. Sunday we did experience our first baby consignment sale as well. Can we say CRAZINESS!!! There are so many items for different stages and not to mention so many people buying items. We walked around for a few minutes and realized we just weren't prepared for this shopping yet. It was almost like walking into a bird house with birds flying all around from branch to branch chirping. Women were everywhere chatting with their friends, children or telling their husbands want to grab or carry. The image is burned into the brain and will probably cause some pregnancy nightmares.

Thanks for reading the blog and enjoying this experience with us. Hope this brings back memories from your pregnancies or provides you with a little insight as to what it could be like. You can always comment if you would like or just read along. Now I am off on my flight.
